Terms of Service

Version 2026-08-11. Applies to the Measure API, the MCP server, and any measurement returned by either.

Read this part even if you read nothing else. Measure returns computed estimates, not a survey. Numbers are derived by algorithm from remotely sensed data of varying age and quality. Some buildings cannot be measured reliably at all, and Measure will sometimes be confidently wrong. Every response carries a confidence field. Check it, and verify on site before ordering materials, committing money, or making a safety decision.

1. What the service does

Measure accepts an address or coordinate and returns geometric estimates about the structures and surroundings at that location — which building is present, roof size and slope, what stands nearby, and clearance. It is an information service. It is not engineering, surveying, architectural, insurance, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional.

2. Accuracy, and its limits

All outputs are estimates. No accuracy figure is promised, warranted, or implied for any individual property.
Accuracy varies by location, structure type, structure size and the age of the underlying data. Small structures are measured less reliably than large ones.
Underlying data has a capture date that may be years old. Buildings are altered and demolished; vegetation grows. Every response reports the capture year — read it.
The confidence field is part of the answer, not decoration. A low grade means we do not trust our own number and neither should you.
We may change, improve or withdraw measurement methods at any time. The same address may return different numbers on different days.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for deciding whether an output is fit for your purpose, and for verifying it before relying on it. If you resell, display, or embed Measure outputs, you must not present them as surveyed, certified, or guaranteed, and you must pass this disclaimer on to the people who see them.

You will not use the service to make decisions affecting safety of life, structural integrity, emergency response, or legal boundaries without independent verification.

4. Acceptable use

One account per organization. Do not share, resell or publish your API key.
Do not attempt to bulk-extract, mirror or reconstruct the underlying dataset.
Do not exceed your rate limits or usage cap by rotating keys, addresses or IPs.
Do not use the service to harass, surveil or profile individuals.

5. Fees

Usage is metered per call in units and billed weekly at the rate shown at signup. Calls are charged on attempt, not on success: a request that finds nothing measurable has still consumed the work. Your consumption is available at any time from GET /v1/usage, which is not itself billed. Unpaid accounts may be suspended.

6. Availability

The service is provided as-is, without uptime commitment. It depends on third-party data sources that may be slow, stale or unavailable. Requests may be rate limited, queued or refused.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Measure is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, wasted materials, mis-quoted work, or decisions taken in reliance on an output. Total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim.

8. Data

We store the addresses and coordinates you query, together with usage records, in order to operate, bill and improve the service. We record your email, the version of these terms, and the time and IP of acceptance. See data attribution for third-party licenses that may attach to derived outputs.

9. Changes and termination

These terms may be updated; continued use after a new version is published constitutes acceptance. Either party may terminate at any time. We may suspend access immediately for breach of section 4 or non-payment.
